Over the course of 2020, we’ll be simplifying Pre-Orders.  Pre-order periods have gotten a little out of control and pre-ordering a project a year ahead of time is problematic. From now on, new projects will have short pre-order windows. When the project is announced, you’ll get a nice discount and you’ll only have to wait a couple of weeks for the project to go live. When it does, you’ll have immediate access to ALL of the videos in the series.

There are a bunch of boring internal reasons for this change and I don’t want to bore you with those, so here are the reasons that affect you directly.

  • We want you to have a simplified shopping experience. In the past, we had two different bundle systems: one for Pre-Orders and one for Completed projects. This was confusing for many. From now on, only completed projects will have a bundle option. And generally speaking, only one project will be available for pre-order at a time.
  • The concept of long Pre-Order periods is problematic, especially when guest instructors are involved. There’s a huge liability in accepting payment months/years ahead of time for content that isn’t even filmed yet. We need more flexibility and freedom when it comes to guest instructors and this change allows us to bring you more courses, faster.
  • We want you to know what you’re buying. With extended pre-orders, we often only had a concept drawing available to convey what the project will look like. This can obviously lead to disappointment when the project ends up a little bit different than you expected. Moving forward, you’ll know exactly what you’re buying.

Since we know you folks like to know what projects/instructors are coming down the line, we’ll soon implement a calendar with approximate dates for proposed upcoming projects. We’ll also announce new instructors and projects via the Guild Newsletter, so make sure you’re subscribed: Newsletter.

Of course if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment.

Note* – The Pre-Order projects that are currently in the store have to remain there until the projects are released. Any new projects this year will be released using this new system.
