We’ll take a look at the table and then start designing and prepping the legs.
Legs Part 2

Mortising the legs and then shaping with curves and pillowed surfaces.
Rails and Assembly

The rails are cut to size, tenons are added, and the base is assembled.
Table Top

The top is really just one huge panel.
Breadboards

Breadboard ends are added to the table top for aesthetics with the added bonus of greater stability.
Details and Finish

The final details and the finish bring the table to life.

What will I need?

Materials: 5 BF of 4/4 Hardwood (for the aprons), 27 BF of 5/4 Hardwood (for the top. You can also use 4/4 if you want), 11 BF of 8/4 Hardwood (for the legs)
Tools: Jointer, planer, miter saw, band saw, table saw with dado stack and miter gauge, router with edge guide, chisels, flush trim saw, rasp (or spokeshave), drill press, Circular saw or track saw, block plane, card scraper, Lee Valley drawing bow (optional), Dowel Plate (optional), flush trim saw.
Blades & Bits:
1/4″ drill bit, 3/8″ upcut spiral bit, dado stack, 1/4″ upcut spiral bit, EA Chamfer Bit P14-2817, 1/8″ Roundover Bit, 45 degree chamfer bit.
